Schulenbroek Cycle Route'

From Hasselt, head west towards the Schulensmeer and the surrounding Schulenbroek nature reserve, one of the largest green areas in Flanders. This flat, water-rich route is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers. You will cycle along the winding Herk and Demer rivers and pass historical gems such as the Château de Stassart and the cosy centre of Herk-de-Stad with the Amandina Museum. Be sure to stop at the visitor centre ‘Schulensmeer for a terrace with a wide view over the water, or enjoy the absolute silence in the vast, wet grasslands of the Schulenbroek itself.
